Simultaneous translation refers facilitating communication between two or more speakers who neither speak nor sign the same source. For simultaneous translation, the translator stands in a cabin in which a microphone and a headphone exist. Simultaneous translator speaks instantaneously with the original speaker. The speech heart through the headphone is conveyed to the auditors through microphone. Thus, simultaneous translation process requires technical equipment including the cabin, microphone, headphone and other sound components. Consecutive translation means oral translation of a speaker’s words into another language when the speaker has finished speaking or pauses for interpreting. In the consecutive translation process, the translator stands with the speaker, take notes when speaker is speaking and after the speaker stopped the translator translates the spoken words. Thus, the translator and the speaker speak in turn. This type of translation is generally preferred for short-time press conferences, business meetings and committee visits. For consecutive translations, a microphone is required depending on the physical conditions of the workspace.
